About the site
When I started this site in early 2003, I wanted a place to post slices of life: photos, poems, journal entries, and whatever else came to mind. I couldn't pressure myself into creating profundity every time I felt the need to share, and I'd seen too many trivial weblogs that tried to pass themselves off as meaningful, thought-provoking writing sites. So, I decided to create a place for the trivial, the tiny, and mundane. The most appropriate metaphor I could think of was that of spare change: the remnants of one's honest living, on any given day. My designs also tend toward minimalism, so even the most drastic changes to the site keep the layout rather spare. Ah, wordplay.

I'm a young woman in central Florida. I write a little, worry less than I used to, and mess around with HTML less frequently than I do either of the aforementioned. I can be reached at prosportia at hotmail dot com, though I'd advise putting "Spare Change" in the subject line to avoid deletion.
